
Background
Judge Dolny has been serving as Justice of the Peace for Pima County’s Precinct 4 since January, 1997. Precinct 4 currently encompasses the downtown city area and west across the Santa Cruz River to include Barrios Hollywood, Menlo Park, A-Mountain and much of the western part of the county, including Three Points. It extends south to Pima Mine Road and goes to Sunset Road on the north. However, Judge Dolny hears cases from all over the county. Judge Dolny was first elected in November 1996 and is currently up for reelection for a fourth term. She received a Bachelor’s Degree "With High Distinction" from Arizona State University with a Major in French and a Minor in Spanish and Education, and then earned a Master’s Degree in French from the same university. She attended the University of Paris (Sorbonne) and University of Toulouse, France, on Fulbright scholarships. She taught at the middle school and high school levels and also taught GED for Pima County. Judge Dolny received her Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Arizona College of Law in 1978, practiced law, and then became a judge. Judge Dolny is a Native Spanish speaker and is fluent in French and also conversant in Italian and German.
Judge Dolny is a widow with three grown children, Richie, Yvonne, and Christina, all of whom live in the Phoenix area. She loves to travel and has been in Europe, North Africa, East Africa, Laos, Cambodia, Viet Nam, Thailand, India, Egypt, New Zealand, Australia, Czech Republic, Guatemala, and many other countries. Last year she was thrilled to have climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the highest mountain in Africa! Most recently she enjoyed bungee jumping from a bridge 150’ over the Kawarau River in New Zealand.
