The Court requires pre-employment background checks. Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include verification of work history, education, and criminal conviction history. A prior criminal conviction will not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment with the Court. In most instances, successful candidates will be subject to a one-year initial probationary period and can be terminated at any time without the right of appeal.
The court requires employees to adhere to the Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees and the Pima County Justice Court Merit Rules and Policies.

The court has a right to modify the conditions of the job announcement, withdraw an announcement, or fill a position at any time before the closing date, any of which may occur without prior written notice.

Positions requiring a valid driver’s license as indicated by the job posting and/or job description:

A valid driver license is required at the time of application. A valid AZ driver license is required at the time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month Motor Vehicle Record review to determine the applicant’s suitability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Out-of-state applicants must supply a 39-month Motor Vehicle records from their home state. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications may be grounds for termination. Any offer of employment is contingent upon County Fleet Services’ review and approval of the candidate’s driving record.
Special notice to out of state applicants:
State law requires that you obtain an Arizona vehicle registration and driver license, immediately if any of the following apply:
You work in Arizona (other than for seasonal agricultural work).
You are registered to vote in Arizona.
You place children in school without paying the tuition rate of a nonresident.
You have a business with an office in Arizona that bases and operates vehicles in this state.
You obtain a state license or pay school tuition fees at the same rate as an Arizona resident.
You have a business that operates vehicles to transport goods or passengers within Arizona.
You remain in Arizona for a total of seven months or more during any calendar year, regardless of your permanent residence.
