Erica A. Cornejo, the newly elected Justice of the Peace for Precinct Two, was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. She attended Bryn Mawr College where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art History. After some time traveling abroad, then living outside of Arizona, the events of September 11th 2001 brought Erica back to Tucson to be closer to her family.
In 2003, Erica went to law school at the University of Arizona. After graduation she worked for the Pima County Attorney’s Office for seven years in the Misdemeanor and Juvenile Divisions. After leaving the County Attorney’s Office, Erica opened her own law firm in January 2014 where she practiced in the areas of dependencies and delinquencies in Pima County Juvenile Court.
Erica is extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve her community as a Justice of the Peace. In particular, she is excited to join in the court’s efforts to implement the recommendations of the recent Task Force on Fair Justice For All. This initiative is an exciting new development in the area of Justice. As the busiest Justice Court in the State of Arizona, the Pima County Consolidated Justice Court will play a major role in implementing these recommendations and will have a huge impact on our community.
