About the Judge

Victoria Steele was elected Justice of the Peace in 2022 for Pima County Precinct One, in North and Northeast Tucson. She was born in Franklin, PA and moved to Tucson in 1987. She enjoyed a 25 year career in television and radio news including working at KOLD-TV and KNST radio in the 80s and 90s.

Ms. Steele earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of Phoenix, received a Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Prescott College. She taught Counseling to graduate and undergraduate students at both the University of Phoenix and Prescott College. She worked mainly in the areas of diversity, substance abuse, domestic violence, mental health, and relationship issues.

Ms. Steele served as an Arizona State Senator from 2019 to 2022. She was first elected to the State House of Representatives and served from 2013 to 2016. Senator Steele was a member of the Senate Minority Caucus Leadership Team as Co-Whip. She sat on the Natural Resources, Energy and Water Committee as well as the Transportation Committee.

On a more personal note, Victoria loves jazz, and hiking in the mountains of Southern Arizona.
