What is a motion?
A motion is a formal written request of a judge or hearing officer to make a decision about a specific issue in a case. The most common motions filed in criminal misdemeanor and misdemeanor traffic matters include the following:

  1. Request to quash warrant.
  2. Request to lift suspension on driver license.
  3. Request for an extension.
Other reasons:
  • Request to reduce payment plan.
  • Request to complete community service rather than paying the fine.
  • Request to continue a hearing.
